Gradient Group worked alongside Local council and Events teams to support the safe delivery of a major public event attended by more than 100,000 people, including the Prime Minister and other high-profile guests.

With large crowd movements, changing traffic conditions, and increased security requirements, the project demanded more than standard traffic control measures. The focus was on creating a safer environment for patrons, event staff, emergency services, and surrounding businesses.

Gradient Group assisted by coordinating additional safety measures across the event footprint, including:

• Deployment of more than 20 hybrid light towers to improve visibility across pedestrian and operational areas
• Installation of industry-leading Baava barrier systems designed to prevent unauthorised vehicle access into event zones while still allowing rapid emergency and operational access when required
• Strategic placement of barriers capable of being repositioned in less than 30 seconds, helping maintain both security and operational flexibility throughout the event
• Coordination with local businesses and suppliers to source and deliver additional safety infrastructure within tight operational timeframes
• Support for emergency service access routes and crowd movement management throughout the event

By working collaboratively with stakeholders and adapting to operational requirements in real time, the event was successfully delivered with enhanced safety outcomes across high-density public areas.
